Washer pitching game rules. Washer pitching is a game, similar to horseshoes, that involves teams of players that take turns tossing washers towards a box or hole. A winning game is determined in several ways. To begin a new game, each player/team throws one (1) washer towards the opposite washer board. Each of the pits should contain one recessed cup of approximately 4 inches in diameter. One version of the game offers the possibility of cancelling out points.
